Take Action
Take action for a people’s vaccine
Our best chance of ending this pandemic is to ensure that everyone, everywhere has access to COVID-19 vaccines, tests and treatments. But pharmaceutical monopolies could leave countries in the global south waiting up to 2023 for widespread vaccination. This threatens everyone as no-one is safe until everyone is safe.
1. CALL OUT BIONTECH
The BioNTech-Pfizer vaccine for COVID-19 is one of the most lucrative in history, but its benefits haven’t been evenly distributed. In 2021, BioNTech made more that €10 billion in profits but only 1% of their vaccines were delivered to low income countries. If you agree that this is immoral, join us in asking BioNTech to share the technology and finally stand for free and fair vaccine access for all.
World leaders have the power right now to remove Big Pharma’s monopoly hold on COVID-19 vaccines, tests and treatments and allow countries to produce the life-saving medicines their populations desperately need.
Take to Twitter to call on key players to take urgent action to stand up to the Pharma industry and #EndCOVIDMonopolies:
3. HELP SPREAD THE WORD
Despite backing from over 13 million people and 100 countries including the USA, a few rich governments including the EU and UK have steadfastly halted any progress.
The big pharma companies have racked up billions in profit whilst over 5 million people have lost their lives to COVID-19, with economies and livelihoods brought to a stand still.
The world cannot afford more delays.

OUR DEMANDS TO GOVERNMENTS AND BIG PHARMA
- Pharmaceutical companies openly share vaccines know-how. They can do this through joining the World Health Organisation Covid-19 Technology and Access Pool (C-TAP).
- Governments suspend patent rules at the World Trade Organisation on Covid-19 vaccines, treatments and testing during the pandemic. This will help break Big Pharma monopolies and increase supplies so there are enough doses for everyone, everywhere.
